Instant OGo 1.1.6 introduces Central Directory Server
Free Software Update available immediately. InstantOGo Groupware Linux delivers companywide contact information to LDAP enabled clients.
MAGDEBURG, November 13th, 2007 Instant OGo 1.1.6 is a universal Groupware Server for both users preferring a feature-rich web client and users applying fast native clients, combining the capabilities of the most common standard protocols in one product. The new software release enables search for contact data with various clients via a built-in standard directory server.
This means, the contact store of Instant OGo's Groupware can now be accessed from the users Email program. Skyrix adds new functions to InstantOGo 1.1.6 supporting the open LDAP protocol (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
Finding any phone number and email address by just a click
The server is compatible with most LDAP enabled email client software products on Windows, Linux and Mac. The client application, like Mozilla Thunderbird, Kontact-Mail or Novell Evolution, may use the directory service to retrieve the e-mail of a specific employee in an organization. Such directory-enabled applications use the directory service to operate in an efficient manner. The user has access to important contact attributes by just a mouse click, without having to search and open the contact record using Groupware's WebUI.
